GN3plus is a project funded by the 7th EU R&D Framework Programme (budget: €74M over 2 years) through which the national academic and research networks of European countries operate a pan-European academic and research network called GÉANT. The latter brings together the research networks of the different European countries and brings these into contact with other research networks from different parts of the world, thereby contributing to the creation of a global research network.

Within the framework of the GN3plus project, the European academic and research networks also deploy other services of mutual interest (security, mobility, monitoring, cloud, etc.) and carry out joint research activities for the development of new services to be rolled out in multi-domain environments (federal schemas of infrastructure interconnections, provision of services through the integration of simpler components, etc.).
