There are two options:

a) Connecting directly to a RedIRIS node

b) Connecting through a regional network or another type of already connected network. In this case, an agreement must be reached with the parties involved regarding the use of the traffic infrastructure. The institution is responsible for managing the access link to the nearest RedIRIS Point of Presence. To make the physical connection, the following steps must be taken:

• Send the connection form by e-mail to the RedIRIS NOC.
• Request a line from the transport provider.
• Make the physical connection and perform the tests.

Lastly, so that the institution has full connectivity to the Internet, it must request routing for the pre-assigned addressing. Further details on the process can be found in the ‘Further information’ section.
