Enlighten Your Research Global 2015 is now moving into its second round

RedIRIS participates in this initiative

Since the Call for Proposals was launched in April 2015, the EYR-Global Organizing Committee, composed of twelve National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) from around the world, has received many exciting proposals for research projects that could benefit significantly from advanced networking support.

Like the 2013 edition, which supported projects from domains such as climate, genomics, and computer science, this year’s program has gathered project ideas from a wide variety of disciplines, from fusion energy to computational microbiology and neurology. Some facts: EYR Global 2015 has gathered 8 proposals involving 29 institutions from 13 countries.

The Interactive Map of the EYR-Global 2015 - First Round Proposals is available.

During this second round, principal investigators, engineers, and researcher support staff will collaborate to determine how to apply advanced networking technologies to solve each research challenge. Bringing the 29 institutions closer together through network technologies is expected to enhance each collaboration and accelerate research goals.

The consultation round currently in progress will result in a better understanding of the challenges of researchers.

Final awarded projects will be announced at the Supercomputing Conference (SC15) in November 2015. Stay tuned to find out more!
